There are TWO WAYS you can use the E2BN broadband video conferencing service for making multipoint calls:
By using the remote control unit of your video conferencing endpoint
This can be used to create a video-conference, and
To join a videoconference created by another school or site
By scheduling a conference in advance by accessing the E2BN multiconference interface
Creating a conference using the remote control unit
Conferences can be created by dialing directly into the MCU:
1. Using the remote control call the following number - 004400202079999
(this is the contact number for multi-conferencing unit, you may want to add this number to the speed dial or directory list of your video conferencing unit)
When dialling into the MCU, you will be presented with a menu and audio prompt instructing you to use the control on the remote to navigate.
2. Once connected select far end control on your endpoint remote.
Follow the prompts to create a conference.
3. You will be given the option to either join a current conference or press * to create a new conference. You must press * to create a new conference (or highlight create conference and press right cursor button) Press the * key on the remote on some end devices you may have to try this a few time for it to register so do not panic if it does not work first time.
4. You will then be asked to enter a conference number followed by the pound key enter any number of your choice (we would recommend that each school use its DFES number to make sure there are no replications) but avoid obvious choices such as 1111. The pound key actually refers to the # symbol so once you have entered you conference number press the # key.
5. You will then be asked to enter a pin number if required. It is good practice to always ensure you do this. The pin number will ensure that only those individuals that you want to join in the conference can access it. Enter the pin number of your choice followed by the # symbol.
