Video Conferencing has great potential in teaching and learning. It can engage students and provide opportunities for the creative use of ICT in lessons. There is now a wide range of equipment available to schools from systems for whole class teaching to web cameras for one to one communications. Knowledge of how video conferencing can be integrated into the curriculum is increasing all the time. However a large proportion of the good practice going on in schools is not being used to inform others. Many schools still have difficulty in contacting sites or individual teachers with similar interests to conference with. There is also a bewildering amount of equipment and information and a variety of ways of using this to support leaching and learning. Therefore this site aims to provide a one-stop-guide for your video conferencing needs.

The site features:

By filling in a simple online form you can register you areas of interest (subjects/topics) and the E2BN Multiclass site will automatically give you a list of other schools and establishments that most closely match with you interests, along with the option to view suitable up coming events you may be interested in participating in and details of conferences from the resource library you may like to try in you school.

A resource library:
This area contains a searchable database of lesson plans and case studies to assist teachers in integrating video conferencing in lessons. If you have successfully used video conferencing to enhance teaching and learning in your school please feel free to submit a summary of the event and any related resources so that your experience can be shared with others.

An events section:
Where schools, the RBC’s and other establishments can advertise planned events for schools to participate in

A News Section:
Giving reports on events that have happened in schools as well as other news information relating the video conferencing.

Help and advice pages:
Advice pages -explaining the different types of video conferencing, the suitability of different system of equipment and systems, practical advice on setting up video conferencing within the classroom as well as how video conferencing can be used to enhance teaching and learning. Contributions have been included from practitioner schools as well as the RBC’s and others working in this area.
